I was told baby is big and in the 98% growth and I’m at 21 weeks now. They want a repeat US in 1-2 weeks . Any insight ? With my second they said he was large at 32 weeks and only came out 8.8lbs ♀️

My second kid was large. so big they thought I got my conception date wrong. They never told me percentile but she was 9lbs 2 ounces when she was born at 38 weeks. This baby they said is in the 71st percentile but my Ob also moved my due date up 5 days from my LMP. She was 1lb 6 ounces at 22 weeks. I get ultrasounds every 4 weeks because I'm old. lol. They can be off. I would try not to worry about it until the next scan

My 1st was measuring big at the anatomy scan and they had another ultrasound closer to the due date that also confirmed he was going to be big. When he was born he was very average at 7lbs 7oz 19.5". Their measurements can be inaccurate so be prepared in case it's wrong (in my case I had no newborn sleepers assuming he'd never be in them and my partner had go run out and get some)

@babybeanie91,
this is what happened to me too. They told me he was going to be big and I should induce at 38 weeks to avoid delivery complications. I ended up having to buy premie size bc he was 7 pounds 1 oz. This time around I plan to try and go until he decides to come.

Measurements can be hit or miss. I take them with a grain of salt.

it means almost nothing. They told me my first would be huge because I went to 42 weeks before I was induced. He was 8 lbs 2 oz. With my second they told me she would be 10 pounds and I could potentially need a c-section. She was 8lbs 1 oz and I had an uncomplicated vagin*l birth. 23 weeks with this one and he’s exactly at the 50th percentile. I’d love to say that’s reassuring, but again…probably means very little.

I say it all depends on who is doing the ultrasound. Mine was accurate to the oz when my first was born! His birth weight was spot on. He was in a higher percentile but not 98. I think it’s more accurate closer to the due date. In between now and then growing is all over the place. But I’ve also heard of peoples ultrasound measurements being way off! I pay more attention to the weight versus percentile.
