Hi!
Just curious to know about your diet. My baby is measuring in the 98 percentile and I don’t have GD. I sometimes wonder if I have indulged a bit too much with desserts. I honestly think I’ve been eating pretty decently and still working out. My husband is tall but not massive (1.80cm or 6 ft tall).

I think it’s potentially sometimes just genetics. My baby this time is not measuring absolutely enormous but my second was 100th centile when he was born, he was 10lb 5! Iate normally for me (healthier than with my first I think and she was average size)
My husband’s not tall either and neither am I. But in my family maternal line we do seem to grow big babies, my granny had a 10 pound 5 ounce baby, my Mum a 10 pound 3 ounce, my sisters werebig too and both of them were early so who knows how big if they went to full term.

Both of my babies have been/is measuring big and I don’t have GD. I have never been told it’s diet related. We don’t have big babies in our family either, so it’s just how I grow them apparently lol. My son grew to be very petite and is barely on the charts.

I doubt it’s your diet. My first was born LGA and I worked out 5x a week with him and ate pretty well, I’m 5 foot 4 and was 125lb before I got pregnant. Unfortunately for my pelvis, my husband is 6 foot 3 and like 210lb. I know my SIL who is the healthiest and tiniest person I know has had all almost 10lb babies.

Really isn’t to do with GD or what you ate. There will always be bigger babies and smaller babies, that’s what percentiles are. And the measurements aren’t accurate. All of my kids have measured in the 90th percentile at some point, and they were born 6 and 7 lbs lol hardly big babies. This baby is 93 percentile, I take it with a grain of salt. They said my son was 8 lbs at my last scan a week before birth, and he was born 7 . Don’t overthink it.

Me! My first was 50% at birth (8lb)!and this one is 96% percentile, I don’t have GD or any other medical issues. I am 5’2” but my husband is 6’ feet and we both have tall people in our families.

I don’t have GD, but barely passed my 3 hour test this time around. Baby is measuring ahead and in the 95th percentile. I was told to watch my sugar and carb intake but I don’t really feel like I’ve been eating outrageously bad during this pregnancy ♀️
My previous babies were 6lb 5oz, 7lb 13oz, and 7lb 3oz.

My first two boys were 80-90th percentile range. I’ve never had GD though. They also fell off their birth percentile fast and averaged out to 25th for my first and 12th for my second. (Still at almost 4 and 2)
Our pediatrician wasn’t at all concerned and said that they get food easily in the womb and then genetics take over after birth.

No GD last time or this pregnancy. My first was 9.5lbs and long and this time baby is measuring ahead again. Expecting another large baby!

My second baby I did not have GD. She was in the 94th percentile. she was 9lbs 2 ounces when I had her at 38w6d. My husband is 6ft tall around 200lbs. I'm 5'6 and between 118lbs and 129lbs when I've started pregnancy. we were both only 6lbs when born so we were shocked to have such a big baby
